At Kearny Mesa Ford, we take routine maintenance seriously. We don’t cut any corners when you visit our Ford service center, and one thing we insist on is the usage of official Ford parts. OEM parts have a number of advantages over generic ones, and you’ll be glad that we used them when servicing your vehicles.

Why OEM parts?

When a mechanic uses official Ford parts, you know exactly what you’re getting. The automaker has manufactured them specifically for their vehicles. There’s a commitment to quality and there’s often a warranty to back it up. It’s also easier to find the exact components that you need. If you shop for aftermarket parts there are just so many manufacturers to sort through, and it can start to get overwhelming. When you buy an official Ford part, the guesswork is gone and you know that you’re getting quality.

Some mechanics use generic parts because they can be less expensive. There are a couple of problems with this approach. First, they might not even be significantly less expensive than a comparable Ford part! Our dealership orders right from the manufacturer, cutting out middlemen who could cause prices to rise a bit more. The other main issue is that other aftermarket parts just may not be reliable. They’re likely not backed by a warranty like a similar Ford part would be. You might save money by getting a generic part instead of an OEM component, but if you end up back at the mechanic sooner than expected you’re not actually saving money after all.

Don’t settle for subpar service or generic car components. Visit our Ford service center serving San Diego and know that your 2020 Ford F-150 is in good hands. We look forward to assisting you!
