At last month’s Texas Truck Rodeo, put on by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA), journalists and experts picked the 2018 Ford F-150 as the Truck of Texas.
The Texas Truck Rodeo holds vehicles to a high standard. Over 70 TAWA journalists spent two days evaluating all the competitors, driving them on challenging on- and off-road courses to determine the winners across a variety of categories. In order to win Truck of Texas, TAWA journalists must decide that the model is the overall best out of every truck entered into the competition. This marks back-to-back victories for the Ford F-Series, since the 2018 Ford F-150 takes over the crown from the 2017 Ford Super Duty. President of TAWA Nic Phillips highlighted the Ford truck’s EcoBoost engine, 10-speed transmission, and particularly praised the off-road ready 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor trim.
