If you ever have any questions about anything new in the world of Ford cars, our team here at Kearny Pearson Ford is here to keep you in the loop. We are always excited about developments about new Ford cars and want to make sure drivers in the San Diego area stay informed. One new development we are especially excited about here at our Ford dealership is the announcement of more details regarding the highly anticipated 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.
2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Performance Specs Update
When Ford unveiled the brand new upcoming 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, we got to take a look at the aggressive new styling features. In addition to sharp new details, such as the bold new grille, sleek body shape, and massive rear spoiler, the hood features a giant near air intake vent, hinting at the potent engine underneath. We were also teased about what kind of power to expect out of the new edition of the legendary pony car, which was said to exceed 700 horsepower.
While no one would have been disappointed if the final figures were something like 715 or 725 horsepower, not many were expecting Ford to be low-balling quite as much as it turns out they were. As it turns out, the 5.2L supercharged V8 engine in the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 has been tuned to churn out 760 horsepower and 625 lb-ft of torque. These numbers are solidly into supercar territory, along with the projected 0-60mph time of somewhere in the mid three-second range and sub-11 second quarter-mile time. What car enthusiasts can expect from this upcoming performance car is track-ready power and handling that will make for an unforgettable experience.
